Glittery Cupcakes

I really wanted to make cute cupcakes for our
Young Women's In Excellence and New Beginnings program.

There just so happens to be a brand new cake supply store in our neighborhood called

It took me less than 2 seconds to figure out that this is a HAPPY-MAKING place!
And that was just based on the name of the store!  Haha!

If you're from the far far west side of Phoenix, then you understand why that's so exciting.
There's basically nothin' over here!

So, while I was poking around in there checking things out, I found this:
I don't like dust
UNLESS IT'S SAYS DISCO RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT!

Look at those names!

HEAT GREEN
BLUE RAINBOW
CITRUS

Edible glitter!

That stuff ended up all over my kitchen...it was awesome!

Personal belief...
If it glitters, I'm probably gonna love it!
I don't think you can even see how beautifully these cupcakes sparkle.
I got the mini plastic shaker containers there too.

I also found those huge cupcake boxes at Bake Me A Cake
for only $1.50 each.
Made transporting 6 dozen cupcakes
SO.  MUCH.  EASIER!
They're disposable, but no way am I throwing them babies away.
I have the cupboard space to keep em.  lol.
Their prices on everything are very reasonable.

The adorable toppers were designed by our Young Women's 1st counselor, Devin.
She pretty much rocks those publisher programs!
I love theme food!
As you can see, I used a Betty Crocker white cake mix....super moist and delicious!
I made a basic butter cream frosting, but substituted almond extract for the vanilla,
cuz I'm pretty much almond extract's biggest fan.

Here are the links for the rest of how we created our New Beginnings and Young Women in Excellency Program:
