Pennsylvania, Part 2, My sister and her family

(broke this trip down into 3 separate posts because I couldn't get it to post in one.  no idea why.)...

It was then time to make the lovely drive to my sister's.
The Pennsylvania landscape is beautiful!

Counting down the minutes to my sister's house on my dying phone...

I hadn't seen her in 2 1/2 years so I was pretty excited to get there!

(back) Jason (my nephew-in-law) holding Peyton, my Cowboy, BIL Kim holding Brighton, sister Connie
(front) niece Jenny, friend Marlee, niece Julia, me

My grandnephew Peyton and grandniece Brighton.....soooooo fun and precious!
Even their names are adorable!

The first snow I've seen in quite some time....
This is the ridiculously gorgeous view from Connie's back window...
YOU SHOULD SEE IT IN THE SUMMERTIME!
(Arizonan's go crazy over green landscapes....it's not the norm...haha)

...the nearby countryside.  Aren't all of these old barns so cool?!
Cowboy and I saw all this on our little countryside stroll in the freezing cold!  Brrrrrr!

PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH DINNER
I am soooo bummed I do not have a picture of Brenda and Mel
and the feast that Brenda cooked for us!
They have been best friends of Connie and Kim for....I dunno....
like, FOREVER.
Brenda. Can. Cook!
I've been feeding my family a little better since returning from this trip.
It's Brenda's fault.
Ohhhh, I love that gal and her
Beef pot roast (NOT cooked in a crock pot), Carrots, Green Beans, Corn (she canned herself), Mashed Potatoes and gravy, Sweet Pepper Cabbage (she made herself), Applesauce (she canned herself), Peach Custard Pie (she made), Apple Pie (she made)

WHO COOKS LIKE THAT ON A WEEKNIGHT???
It was all so delicious!
Thank you Brenda!!!

TIME WITH THE GIRLS

My brother-in-law Kim's 60th birthday was going to be in a few days.
My sister and her daughters had been planning a huge surprise birthday for a couple of months,
and he had absolutely no idea!
We made the rounds to Party City and Costco, etc.
You know, the same stores I live at when I'm at home.
Let's face it, Costco and Party City are a big part of my universe, no matter where in the universe I may be.

A pleasant little surprise at Costco!!

These are grown in California by a fabulous company that we're invested in.  We ALWAYS get excited when we see these at Costco.....and it was super cool for my sister and niece to see them too for the first time, and to share a bag with them.
They were more delicious than ever!

KIM'S SURPRISE 60TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

Awwww, now the party is over.
My nieces are back to college and work.
It's time for Cowboy and me to have a fun day with Connie and Kim.
What to do, what to do?

Well of course we headed for
HERSHEY PARK

So.  Much.  Chocolate!
and Singing Cows!
It smells so heavenly, seriously, you just can't even imagine how wonderfully aromatic!

Even the street lights in Hershey are shaped like Hershey's Kisses!

We had a great time doing all this and much, much more.
